Thank you for supporting me in this historic, once-in-a-lifetime adventure that will carry on the legacy of the 29 men lost on the Edmund Fitzgerald 50 years ago. By helping me meet my fundraising goal, you are also helping renovate the Whitefish Point Lighthouse that safeguards mariners along Lake Superior's "Shipwreck Coast."
I will be a part of a 68 person team (split into groups of 4) that will swim the last planned route of the Edmund Fitzgerald (411 miles). My team's leg (32 miles) will be from Au Gres, MI to the tip of the thumb. The start of the location is dear to me as my Grandparents (Higgs) owned a cabin on the beach in Au Gres and spent many a day chasing their grandchildren in, around, and on the water.
