As a cancer survivor myself, I can attest to the fact that our pets are most certainly part of our caregiving team. My Phoebe was right by my side through it all, good days, not so good days and everything in between. Just a few short weeks ago, my heart was broken into pieces when my Phoebe transitioned from Caregiver to cancer Survivor. She has an untreatable oral cancer and her time with us is limited because of it. Phoebe loves everything outdoors Walking, hiking, kayaking, and even just hanging out on the deck. She loves sunshine, and so my Campus Runs the world is not only dedicated to her, but, the miles I walk hike and kayak are being done with her until she can't go anymore.
The research done by the American Cancer Society for humans also helps our pets - the medications Phoebe is on right now for her cancer are human grade. I honestly took it harder when my sweet girl was diagnosed than when I was. I understand what is happening, she doesn't. Every $10 dollars donated will be a mile my girl gets with me. Please donate and not only help me have more #mileswithPhoebe, but help us find a cure to end cancer once and for all. NOBODY deserves this terrible disease. NOBODY. The dollar you give may find the cure!
