In early March of 2024, Bob and his family were hit with unexpected, life-changing news. After suffering from two small strokes in February, imaging revealed a lesion on Bob's lung along with a tumor on his liver. Bob was shortly after diagnosed with peritoneal cancer along with Trousseau Syndrome. Trousseau Syndrome is caused due to the tumors Bob has, sending proteins throughout his body, causing the clotting issues. During the time of finding out these diagnoses, he suffered from another stroke which he is currently rehabilitating from at HOAG hospital. The peritoneal cancer Bob was diagnosed with caused the second diagnosis, Trousseau Syndrome, which is causing the strokes. He is simultaneously receiving his chemotherapy treatments at HOAG as well. Bob is fighting like a dog and has the incredible support of his wife Deb, daughter Rachel and son Russ who have not left his side. He also has the support of his countless friends and family while he tackles this fight!
I, Kelsey Osgood, and whoever else wants to join me will be running this half marathon on May 5th, 2024 in honor of Bob. 100% of the money raised will go straight to the Hoag Hospital Foundation where Bob will continue this battle!
