As your Grand Traverse Bay Waterkeeper, I fight tirelessly for swimmable, drinkable, and fishable water in our community. I grew up on the shores of Grand Traverse Bay and I feel privileged to dedicate my career to protecting the waters I call home. The Grand Traverse Bay is a beautiful, unique, and ecologically diverse embayment. The inland lakes, streams, beaches, and wetlands make this place a desirable place to live and visit. They make this corner of Northern Michigan truly magical.
I feel honored to be swimming these waters for my fourth 2-mile, open-water Swim for Grand Traverse Bay this coming August. There is no better way to experience the bay than to be immersed in its cool, clear waters, surrounded by all its magic. You can help me protect Grand Traverse Bay and its surrounding waterways by making a gift toward my fundraising goal. Every dollar raised will go toward supporting The Watershed Center’s year-round efforts to restore waterways, monitor threats, and advocate for polices and decisions that protect our waters.
We all have a shared responsibility for protecting these waters we all love. Please consider supporting me on my journey to swim the bay!
Yours sincerely in clean water,
Heather
