Teachers are the real heroes. They shape our kids and the future with no fanfare. My favorite teacher was my mom Joan North. I never knew her in a classroom since her teaching days were well before I was born. She taught grade school in Kingston, Ontario while my dad attended medical school. Her huge heart, wonderful sense of humor, and smiling eyes would have made any classroom shimmer!
In her memory, I am raising funds as part of my participation in RunDisney’s Princess weekend in February 2025. This race will mark 10 years of RunDisney for me, and I’ll run the 5 and 10k — the races that started it all back in 2015. The race weekend is also being held just a few days after the 9th year since my mom’s passing, making it extra special and motivating me to find a special way to participate and make a difference. Any donation you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Teaching & Learning Collaborative, as a nonprofit organization, our mission is to provide innovative professional development and resources for teachers, students and families in PreK-Grade 12. Proceeds from our runDisney events support programs and resources created by TLC. Currently, one focus is our Math Camp-In resources that are free to use. We are really focused on trying to get 10,000 of our Math Camp-In family engagement backpacks into the hands of families.
