Last year, I lost my dad, Benyamin ben Mordechai z”l, after he fought for his life for many months in the hospital. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the outcome that we had prayed for, but one thing that kept us going through this incredibly challenging time was Chesed 24/7. When you have a family member in the hospital, you are in a constant state of worry and stress, and don’t have the time or headspace to address all of your needs. Chesed 24/7 took care of us when we couldn’t take care of ourselves. Through keeping a fully stocked Bikkur Cholim room in the hospital, coming to visit us, giving us apartments to stay in over Shabbat so we could be with my dad, and so much more, this unbelievable organization made that horrible time in our life a little less horrible.
