Imani was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) at age 4, but thanks to early intervention and wonderful support programs, she's going into her final year at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Imani lives just off campus and is an active participant in Kinney's ASPIRE (Autism Support Promoting Inclusive and Responsive Education) Program. The folks at Kinney are phenomenal and their program outcomes are impressive. ASPIRE students are 4x more likely than other adults with ASD to find employment within 6 months of graduation. 86% of ASPIRE graduates report that they found a job or enrolled in graduate school within 6 months of graduation.
I think Kinney is poised to make SJU the pre-eminent destination for ASD college students in this region...heck, in this country! In Fall 2022, they opened one of the first dorms exclusively for college students on the spectrum.
