I AM HONORED TO TOUGH RUCK FOR AMERICA'S FALLEN MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDERS
Growing up in a military family, patriotism and respect for those who have served was instilled in me from the start. With my father in the Army and my birthday often coinciding with Veteran's Day, my earliest celebrations were often shared by honoring our nation’s heroes. My parents taught me to value the sacrifices made by first responders and servicemen and women, and that respect has only deepened over time.
In middle and high school, I had the privilege of performing the songs of our nation's military forces with our school band and orchestra, connecting to the stories of service members through music. My school environment was steeped in military pride, with mentors—from our headmaster and teachers to the head of security—each modeling commitment to service. These experiences inspired me to carry forward the values instilled in me and honor our nation's heroes however I can.
This April, I will join Tough Ruck Nation to complete a marathon with a 35+ pound rucksack, alongside an elite group of 1,000 who march to HONOR AMERICA's FALLEN MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDERS. We carry the names of the Fallen on our rucks, ensuring they are NEVER FORGOTTEN. Through our journey, we raise critical funds for our Warriors, supporting them and their families in times of need.
Tough Ruckers were at the Boston Marathon finish line on April 15, 2013, joining first responders to help those affected by the tragic blasts. Today, Tough Ruck takes place the weekend before the Boston Marathon Monday, as the only ruck march partnered with the Boston Marathon. Finishers receive the official Boston Marathon medals and recognition from the Boston Athletic Association. Military Friends Foundation serves as the official charity of Tough Ruck Nation, supporting our Warriors and their families in their hour of need.
Thank you for any support and I hope to see you there!
