The Izzo Legacy Run Walk & Roll will continue in 2020 with registration going live on Friday, October 25! The 2020 Izzo will again take place the morning of MSU Football's spring game in April! The final date for this game is expected to be posted in February 2020 with refunds available for those who can not attend but registered.
Proceeds from the 2020 Izzo Legacy Run/Walk/Roll event will create an endowment for the Izzo Legacy Foundation that will ensure charitable giving for years to come. In addition, participants can donate to select local charities through the registration process.
The Izzo family has partnered with Playmakers to host the annual premium run/walk/roll experience on the campus of Michigan State University that connects Alumni, MSU and Mid-Michigan communities in a positive celebration of Coach Izzo's legacy. The events include a 5K Run/Walk, 5K Roll, 1 Mile Walk, Children's Races and a Virtual 5K. The Izzo Legacy events will focus on fitness, fun, family, Spartan spirit and charitable giving!
All event proceeds and donations to this race will go directly to the selected charities listed on the donate page. Fans who donate $1,000 to one or more of the selected local charities will be acknowledged on the Donor Banner displayed at the Izzo Legacy Event.
Tom and I have certainly been blessed to be a part of this community and we feel a genuine obligation to give back to the MSU and Mid-Michigan communities that have become such a large part of our lives. One of the reasons we’ve never left Michigan State is the connection to our community.

Tom and Lupe Izzo created the Izzo Legacy Fund to formalize their commitment to the community they have called home and raised their family. It is meant to bring together people in the community through charitable endeavors for the common purpose of helping others. The Izzo Family Fund is held at the Community Foundation.
The "Roll Division" is referring to athletes participating with handcycles and wheelchairs in the 5K. Besides strollers, which are allowed in both the 3 Point 5K and 1 Mile, all other forms of wheeled devices are prohibited. This includes bikes, rollerblades, and scooters.
Participants entered in the Roll division will receive the finishers medal along with a special award that is given to all participants entered in the Roll Division.
Please note, those using a wheelchair or handcycle are allowed to participate in the 1-mile walk, but should sign up directly for the Slam Dunk 1 Mile Walk.
Each event will take participants on a celebration tour of MSU Athletics on campus! The 5k and Mile Walk will start at the Breslin Center near the Hall of History, pass by Jenison Field House, Old College Field, Sparty, Ralph Young Track and Field, and finish outside of Spartan Stadium. Upon completion, participants will be able to walk around the field before the Spring Football Game! This is not so much a race, but a tour of everything athletic on the banks of the Red Cedar!Open in External Application
