John Beals was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive and terminal brain cancer, in January 2024, and passed away in March 2024. John was an incredible husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was a loving, kind, selfless, compassionate, helpful, and very humorous man. There is nothing he loved more than spending time with his friends and family, helping his neighbors, and serving his community. John also greatly enjoyed walking and hiking. Although this isn’t a hike through the woods, John still would have enjoyed a brisk walk for a cause.
We never want anyone to have to go through this journey - learning someone you love won’t be able to win their battle with an illness, watching them slowly get weaker, and eventually knowing it’s time to say goodbye. It’s the most difficult thing in the world, but with more research and awareness, fewer and fewer people will have to go through this journey.
