I’m helping to raise funds for dogs in need in Puerto Rico by fundraising for Moyo Village. Moyo Village is a 501c3 nonprofit.
Did you know Puerto Rico has over 1.5 million stray dogs and cats? Moyo Village partners with local rescues to provide much-needed funds and supplies. Their efforts include transporting animals to the U.S. mainland for adoption, supporting spay/neuter programs, and bringing volunteers to the island to help
directly on the ground.
Through July 2024, Moyo Village has:
- hosted 27 Volunteer Trips in Puerto Rico
- donated $15,210 in monetary funds to our partner rescues
- provided $6,057 in supplies + flights to our partner rescues
- flown 52 rescues from Puerto Rico to mainland U.S.
- adopted 15 dogs to our volunteers
During this challenge, I’ll be walking my senior rescue dog, Lucky. We’ll be averaging 1.7 miles a day.
