Welcome to my fundraising page!
Seven years ago I got started in endurance sports at the encouragement of an old friend. We were the same age, I was not much of an athlete, and he had completed several marathons and IronMan races. Still he told me I could do it and that completing a marathon was achievable and admirable. Since then I've completed 2 marathons, 6 half marathons, and countless other triathlon and running events. I even inspired at lease two other people to do the same - one even qualified for the Boston Marathon on his first attempt.
You never know who you'll inspire!
My inspiration, Paul, was a Navy pilot, FBI agent, and all around terrific guy, who is sadly no long with us. In his memory, I am proudly supporting the Semper Fi Fund for my 2019 races, and asking for donations to help the Semper Fi Fund continue its mission. Next up for me is my first IronMan 70.3 race on April 7.
Please scroll down to donate. Even if you can't donate, you can help me reach my goal by sharing this page on social media. Here is a quick introduction to Semper Fi Fund. To learn more about the Semper Fi Fund please go to www.semperfifund.org. Thanks so much for your support!
The Semper Fi Fund is an amazing non profit that assists wounded, critically ill and injured service members who have given so much and are an inspiration to so many. The Semper Fi Fund is dedicated to providing immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. We deliver the resources they need during recovery and transition back to their communities, working to ensure no one is left behind.
The Fund's streamlined structure keeps overhead as low as possible because we realize every dollar saved can be put to better use serving those who have served us all in the ongoing job of preserving our nation’s freedom. Since its inception in May 2004, Semper Fi Fund provided over $191 million in assistance to more than 22,000 service members and their families.
The Semper Fi Fund is exceptionally rated among veteran nonprofits: We pledge to stay by the service member’s side throughout recovery, to help that service member as they transition back home. We have consistently received an A+ from CharityWatch, one of only two veteran nonprofits to receive this rating, and eight consecutive 4-star ratings from Charity Navigator, plus a Platinum Seal of Transparency from Guidestar.
