CHAoC 2024 Heart and Sole Walk and 5K

Our daughter Kendra was diagnosed in utero at 22 weeks with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) & Unbalanced AV Canal.  Kendra was born at Cincinnati Children’s, and at just 11 days old she had her first open heart surgery (Norwood Procedure) The night of surgery Kendra went into cardiac arrest and underwent CPR for 45 minutes as they prepared life support (ECMO), which she was on for 3 days.  After 45 days inpatient we finally went home. At 4 months old Kendra underwent her second open heart surgery (Glenn Procedure).  In March of 2022 she had a stent placed in her left pulmonary artery. She is currently in a study of a new stent expandable to adult size (Renata Minima Stent) and was the first patient to receive it at Cincinnati Children’s, and the second in the US! She had her stent expanded on July 30th,2024. She turns 4 on 9/26 and is thriving!
