The Tri-Cities Family YMCA invites you to kick-off your summer at the Team Grand Haven Custom Molding Kick-Off to Summer Run! Whether you are an avid racer or an occasional walker, there is something for everyone and all ages are welcome. Our races consist of a US Track & Field certified 5k Run, a 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk (be sure to bring your wagon or stroller) and a Virtual 5k Run. Join us for this fun family event as we promote healthy lifestyles and building community in the Tri-Cities area! See you on the race course!
COVID-19 Information: The health and safety of our race participants, staff, spectators, and volunteers is our number one priority. We will continue to monitor current and updated health and safety restrictions and revise our race day plan, if necessary. Any changes that occur will be communicated in a detailed and timely manner. THERE WILL BE NO LATE REGISTRTION! Registrations must be completed by Friday, May 28th at 12:00 PM.
PACKET PICK UP will take place Friday, May 28th 4:30pm to 6:30pm and Saturday, May 29th, from 7:00am to 8:30am at the Tri-Cities Family YMCA. Please note you will need to manage your own time to get to the starting line.
5k Male & Female Open and Masters, Age 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over. Awards go to the top three finishers in each age group. There will NOT be an Awards Ceremony following the race. Awards will be available for pick up at the designated tent at the front lawn of the Y, starting at 11:00 AM, following the race. Hand sanitation, social distancing and masks/face coverings will be required. No awards will be presented in the One Mile Fun Run.
The race begins on Harbor Drive just north of the Tri-Cities Family YMCA on the Grand River. The course is challenging, with varied terrain, and offers the beautiful scenery of Lake Michigan and Grand Haven. The 5k route is US Track & Field Certified. Please note this is an open course. Please be respectful of volunteers and public safety officials directing runners-it is for your safety.
The 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk is a non-competitive run/walk for the entire family (strollers and wagons welcome). Race includes a race bib, ribbon and refreshments at the finish line. Family members who ran the 5k do not need to register separately for the one mile fun run.
The Start Line will be open for 30 minutes. Participants will cross the Start Line one by one or by family, maintaining a 6 foot distance from one another. Face masks/coverings must be worn until race participants have crossed the Start Line as well as when they cross the Finish Line. Face masks/coverings do not need to be worn while racing.
The Virtual Race option can be completed anywhere! Choose your own 5k course or hop on a treadmill! You have the option to submit your time, however your time submission will be separate from the in-person races.
In the event of inclement weather, events will be delayed in 15 minute increments. If the 5k race has not been started by 930am, all events will be cancelled.
Please allow time for parking. The YMCA lots will close by 730am. If you have parked at the YMCA, you will not be able to exit until 10:00 AM. Parking in local municipal lots and city streets is advised. It is safe to estimate a 10-15 minute walk to the YMCA.
