I am passionate about protecting the rivers, lakes and beaches that make the Grand Traverse region so beautiful and that’s why I’ve committed to swimming 2 miles in open water in the 2024 Swim for Grand Traverse Bay. To be eligible to compete in this race, I need to raise at least $150 by August 9th, 2024 to benefit The Watershed Center (TWC).
TWC is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the health of Grand Traverse Bay and acts to protect and preserve the bay’s watershed.
Their mission is important to me because I value spending time enjoying our natural world and want to ensure that other folks have the opportunity to do the same! I am conservation biologist by training and have spent much of my career studying fish and the waters that they inhabit. As a current Michigan resident, I am excited to help support an organization that is doing important work to improve the health of our local waters for people and planet.
