Expedition Maroon Bells

Every year for the past several years, I’ve committed to doing something physically hard for a cause that matters to me.

This year, our team will once again take on a 28-mile, two-day hike through the mountains of Colorado to raise awareness and funds in the fight against human trafficking and exploitation.

Human trafficking and exploitation continue to grow at alarming rates, while things like online sexual exploitation and pornography have become increasingly normalized in our culture. Behind that normalization are real people, real pain, and lives deeply affected by exploitation, abuse, and loss of dignity.

For me, this annual hike is more than a challenge. It’s my personal reminder to keep speaking up for those who often have no voice, who don't remember or know that there is another life, to refuse indifference, and to use my own discomfort for something meaningful.

I hope this is also a call for others to get involved — whether through learning more, having conversations, supporting organizations fighting this crisis, praying, donating, or joining efforts that bring light into very dark places.
