Lakeland has a vibrant and active running community which is possible because of runners like you who support our mission with your membership to promote running and fitness for people of all ages and abilities in the greater Lakeland area through fellowship, education, training programs, and running events.
In addition to supporting the mission of the club, LRC Members receive these benefits:
Respect for Participants:
The Lakeland Runners Club respects the fundamental rights, dignity, and worth of all participants. We are aware of cultural, individual, and role differences, including those due to age, gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, language, and socioeconomic status. The LRC will not knowingly participate in or condone unfair discriminatory practices.
Positive & Safe Sport Environment
The Lakeland Runners Club is committed to offering programs for athletes to enjoy a welcoming and respectful environment where diversity is actively embraced.
At any age, our mission is for athletes to use the skills they have learned to contribute to the well-being of their communities.
Additional Resources for Parents
Our volunteer coaches are trained to protect young athletes from abuse through the Safe Sport Act training. Free resources are available for preschool through high school athletes and their parents and are designed to cover the issues of misconduct in sport and helps parents ensure their children have a positive and safe sport experience.
The Lakeland Runners Club, Inc.(LRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). The club was founded in 1974.
