Lake Area Runners is a non-profit organization based out of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Our mission is to promote health and fitness through running in Southwest Louisiana since 1978.

Membership fee is $30 per individual. The membership is valid from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025.

Lake Area Runners hosts 5 annual events. The 2025 events are as follows:

• Mardi Gras Madness 5K is Sunday, March 2, 2025 - cancelled for 2025

• Southern Specialty Products 3 miler is Saturday, March 15, 2025 - formerly Athlete's Corner 3 miler 

• Contraband 5 miler is Saturday, May 3, 2025

• 4 miler on the 4th is Friday, July 4, 2025

• Swamp Stomp Half Marathon & 1 mile kids run is Saturday, December 13, 2025

Triple Crown Series

Register and compete in our Triple Crown Series! The 3 races included in the Triple Crown Series are Southern Specialty Products 3-miler, Contraband 5-miler, Lake Area Runner's 4 miles on the 4th.

Series awards include:

Overall fastest male and female. (The fastest time after combining all 3 race times. Must complete all 3 races in calendar year.)

Finisher medals for those who complete all 3 races in calendar year.
