I began volunteering at Hospice House in 2010, motivated by the superb hospice care offered to my parents in Florida. Over the years, I have been a patient volunteer, photographer, editor, event planner, hike chair, and Guild President. Over and over again, I have witnessed the extraordinary care given to individuals facing the end of life and the support given to family and friends who journey along side the dying. I formed the team Journey Hikers to honor all the unsung heroes who give their all to care for individuals entering their final journey in this life. Knowing that Hospice House is there to offer care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without ever charging a penny, is a final gift. Hospice House is a sacred place and a true Williamsburg treasure. I hope you will support Hike for Hospice so that it is there for you when you need it.
Since 2013, Hospice House of Williamsburg has raised over $600,000 through its annual Hike for Hospice House and fundraisers like this one. Hospice House of Williamsburg offers care, comfort, and compassion through and beyond end of life as well as bereavement support to all free of charge. Funding raised through events like Hike for Hospice ensures that all service to guests and their loved ones can remain cost-free and that Hospice House can remain a vital and accessible resource to serve the Williamsburg community and beyond.
Individual fundraisers allow supporters of Hospice House of Williamsburg to share the mission they care so much about with friends and families in memory of their loved one(s).
