The Listen for Life 5k is a charity event supporting Contact Care Line, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline center in the Knoxville, TN area.
Since 1973, Contact Care Line's Mission has been to provide free and compassionate emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress through confidential telephone service, and now through chat or text. Contact Care Line is Knoxville's local 988 crisis center, answering calls, chats, and texts for Tennessee and 988 Lifeline. Through free services that emphasize confidential, non-judgmental, and compassionate listening, CONTACT’s staff and trained volunteers alleviate despair, isolation, distress, and suicidal feelings in callers from East Tennessee and beyond.
