Our team Michael's Grand Slammers runs in memory of Our Hero, Our #2 Michael Romano. My son was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma on 1/19/1999 at age 4. The doctors told me he had under a year to live. Michael had a different agenda, he fought for 7 years. Some days harder than others. He had the most outgoing personality .
He endured some very tough therapies which included chemotherapy, radiation, experimental therapies , Transplant and hundred of blood and platelet transfusions. Daily medications were not the easiest .
Through it all Michael went to school when he could, he played baseball and he loved going to New York Yankee games and NY Rangers games.
He made us laugh, taught us how to live life. He is missed dearly.
