Running has always been my mental getaway, a passion I discovered after college. I always told myself I’d run a marathon one day, but life had other plans—especially when I became pregnant with twins. My running has never been the same since, but in 2025, everything aligned: a half marathon in my hometown, on my birthday, for a cause that is deeply personal to me.
Sickle cell anemia took my grandfather’s life, and I have family members who continue to suffer from this painful disease. This race is my way of honoring them and supporting those battling sickle cell every day.
After nearly 13 years of running, I’m finally taking on my first official half marathon (13.1 miles). Please consider donating to help families affected by sickle cell disease. Your support means the world to me—and to so many others. Thank you!
