I'm participating in Warriors Next Adventure 5k in Minnesota! Over the summer of 2022 I had a recent surgery where my kidney was removed due to the complexity of a cyst wrapping itself around my kidney. While it's still being determined, I believe that the cyst grew to the size that it had due to my service in Iraq and being in the close proximities of the burn pits. After the initial recovery, I no longer wanted to passively live life. I took my passion for travel, a need to live a healthier life, and passion for helping others into a goal of running a 5k in every state. So far I've helped raise funds for assault victims in Minnesota, the Boys & Girls club in Hawaii, Fight against Hunger in Georgia, and helped promote active lifestyles for youth in Wisconsin and South Carolina.
I am participating in a 5k fundraiser for the local MN nonprofit, Warriors Next Adventure. WNA helps veterans overcome PTSD through recreational therapy and new adventures. WNA helps veterans reintegrate into society after the time in the service is over. They provide veterans with opportunities to get veterans active again and help them improve their mental health. They also help vets get their VA claim filed so they can get access to VA benefits.
