Like many, I hit a plateau in my fitness journey this year. Feeling a bit stuck, I decided to shake things up by starting to run. I quickly fell in love with running and decided to achieve the goal of running a half marathon.
When deciding to run a half marathon, I decided to do it for a cause. I chose a cause near and dear to my heart because of my boyfriend’s experience with a rare disease called Guillain-Barre syndrome.
My boyfriend, Storm, is my rock and biggest inspiration. He's always pushing me to be my best self, which is why he played a huge part in inspiring me to tackle a half marathon. Seeing how he faces challenges head-on with incredible strength and determination makes any adversity in life seem small. From battling paralysis to bouncing back and playing D1 football, Storm's journey has truly inspired me to keep pushing forward, no matter what life throws my way.
I've launched a fundraiser to support individuals battling rare diseases like Storm who require treatment and to raise awareness about this important issue while running for CureRD. Your support would mean the world to me!
