Dear Community and Friends

Join us on September 28, 2019 for our first Annual 5k Run & Walk. Taking place on the waterfront in the Beautiful, Historic  Anacostia Park, the heart of Washington DC. Muhammad Mosque No.4 is the Mid Atlantic Regional Head Quarters for the Nation of Islam. The Host Mosque for the Historic Million Man March, Million Family March, Millions More Movement, and the 10-10-15 Justice or Else March. We are having this 5k Run Walk to assist us in paying off our Mortgage. We plan to have a Burn the Mortgage ceremony at the end of September upon successful completion of our fund-raising activities. This 5k Run Walk is one of the key fund-raising activities planned to ensure we collect the funds required to Burn our Mortgage.

Running and walking is a great way to stay in shape. We all want better health and wellness. This 5K Run Walk will be a great way for us to reach our health goals and at the same time help us to payoff our Mortgage. Please sign up and help us to reach our goal of paying off our Mortgage.

Register for the 5K Run & Walk and get your friends and family to donate money in support of your Run/Walk. The goal is for each runner/walker to raise $500 dollars from your friends and family to help sponsor your Run/Walk. All proceeds will go towards the Burn the Mortgage Campaign.

Race Day Arrivals
  • We àre asking  all pre registered walkers & runners to arrive as close to 06:30 AM to checkin.
  • Race Day Bibs and Chips pick up starts at 06:30 AM at the race site. ( Anacostia Park Pavilion )
  • Soft road closure starts at 07:00 AM. It’s BEST to be at the Park Pavilion parking lot by 07:15 AM
  • Hard road closure starts at 07:30 hrs. The race road way will be closed preparing for the start of the race.
  • If you arrive to the park entrance after 07:29 hrs. you will have to find parking other than at the Pavilion Parking Lot. 
  • From the Park entrance to the Checkin area & STARTING LINE may be a 10 to 15 minute walk...
  • It's BEST to be EARLY. See you at the starting line.



Race Day Check In / Race Bib and Timing Chips

  Pick up your Race Bib/number and Timing Chip At the Race Day Check in table.

  • Be sure to attach your Bib to the front of your shirt.You will not be allowed on the race course with out a race Bib during timing of the race. Also attach your race chip to your shoe with your shoe strings for accurate timing of your run or walk.
Pre - Race Activities/ Warn Up.
  • Race Day Bib & Chip pick up starts at 06:30 am at the race site ( Park Pavilion)
  • 07:00  Opening welcome race day remarks
  • DJ Music support by DJ - AFUW
  • Guest Speakers remarks
  • Health and fitness guest speaker remarks
  • 07:40 Race warm up starts
  • 07:55 Registered participants move to the starting line
  • 08:00 The Race starts.
Race Timing and Results
  • DC Road Runners Club will assist with Timing And Results
  • All equipment needed to accurately time the race.
  • Provide Check in Race Day Registration equipment, Bibs & Chips
  • Digital finish line clock display
  • Starting horn/pistol
  • All required personnel to run and supervise the timing service 

         Water Stations: There will be a water station on the course and at the finish line.


After Race Awards

This race will include medals for the first 1000 registered participants that cross the finish line. Also and special award will be given to the Male and Female First Place Winners.

Here are the steps to make Donations:

1. Navigate to the Race Page.
2. Click the Donate button, or select Donate > Donate from the left-hand sidebar.
3. While not required, you are able to select a Fundraiser or Fundraising Team to apply your donation towards to help them reach their goals.
4. Either select from the given list of Donation Levels, or type in your own amount into the Any Amount box.
5. Select who your Donation should be on behalf of.
6. Select if you would like to send a message to the race or fundraiser.
7. Enter in payment information and confirm your donation.
