Through my time as a veterinary surgeon, I myself have had my ups and downs. Fortunately, there was always someone there I could talk to and let my frustrations out. I've also had the honour of being that 'someone' for other people...
As vets, we need to get rid of the stigma about talking about our frustrations and problems, and stop 'bucking up'. We live and work in a high stress environment, where there often is little room for error on our part- be that in our communications, clinical examination or surgical skills. In my opinion, there is no wonder that it can sometimes get a bit too much- which is why it is so important to be able to 'let it out'.
In support of NOMV I aim to run and walk 10 km daily for the entire month of September- adding up to 300km. Adding to the challenge- I live in a valley... so the start of any run or walk will always be heading uphill!
Photos and tracking will be uploaded to my profile as the month goes on- any donation big or small will be much appreciated for this cause! Wish me luck dragging myself up all those hills! Follow my progress on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/a.gane23/
