Hi everyone,
This year, I’m running a half marathon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), an organization that’s been close to my heart since I was little. LLS is the largest nonprofit dedicated to funding blood cancer research, supporting patients, and improving access to care. They help families through some of the hardest moments of their lives, and they’re working every day toward a world without cancer.
My family and I have been walking in LLS’s Light The Night event since I was four, after we lost my uncle Matt to leukemia. Though my uncle's passing happened when I was very young, my memory and my family's memory of him stay strong, as well as my determination to further increase our understanding of cancer, in honor of my uncle and all of those who loved him. LLS not only works toward saving lives, but also provides many with a sense of connection to our loved ones and those who share similar stories to ours.
Now I’m taking that commitment one step further... quite literally. I’ll be running 13.1 miles in his memory and for all the families still fighting. Any support you give means the world to me and helps LLS continue their life-saving work.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
