I am the daughter of a fish. This fish is a woman, and she is my mother. For thirty years now my mother has taken to Casco Bay, in July and swam this race! I feel a great personal connection to this oceanic space. My mother is now is a Peaks Island resident, and I live in Seattle, but I’m making a journey home so my mother and I can swim this race together for the first time! Support me in this odyssey, as I attempt to do something sort of wild and see if (read:hope) I inherited my mother’s lateral line. This race is in support of the YMCA of Greater Portland, a program dear to my heart, I was a mentor through their programming in my teenage years! It’s for the kids!
As I participate in the Peaks to Portland swim, I'm not just tackling the waves – I'm helping the YMCA of Southern Maine make a wave in the lives of our local kids! Donations to my swim go directly towards the Y's vital programs that promote healthy growth and development for all children. Every contribution, big or small, ensures every kid has the opportunity to thrive. Join me in supporting this incredible cause by donating today – together, we can make a splash for our future generation!
