I am participating in the Indoor Insanity 5K race event to raise funds to fix radon problems in low-income households in Maine. Please consider making a donation to support my efforts to prevent lung cancer.
I am also trying to get a qualifying time to run in a national championship 5k race against high school kids!
Radon causes lung cancer: it is the second leading cause of lung cancer nationwide, and the #1 cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. Maine is at particularly high risk. Our bedrock and soils contain a lot of radon, which can move up through the ground into Maine homes and buildings. 1/3 of Maine homes have high levels of radon. If you would like to know more about radon risk, testing for radon, and fixing radon problems in homes, please visit the state of Maine's radon home page, CLICK HERE.
Thank you in advance for your support of my participation in Indoor Insanity, and for your support of the Maine Indoor Air Quality Council and its effort to reduce the risk of lung cancer for low-income households right here in Maine.
A note regarding processing fees: the RunSign up system charges a 6% processing fee for all on-line donation payments. This fee is used for ongoing support of the software system and is consistent with other available donation support software. If you do not wish to make a payment on-line, you may send a check payment directly to: Maine Indoor Air Quality Council, PO Box 2438, Augusta, Maine 04338-2438. Please note on subject line of your check: Indoor Insanity Donation.
