Phoenix was born with a class 3 heart block and was not supposed to make it to birth. When he was born he had to have a pacemaker placed. Before he was released from the NICU he was showing signs of heart failure. At four months old Phoenix went into complete heart failure. He went to Lurie Children’s Hospital to be evaluated for a heart transplant which he later received in August of 2018 after waiting for 74 days. With a lot of support Phoenix is now a thriving 7 year old!
