Heroes in Motion Step Challenge
Many of you know that foster care is a deeply personal journey for our family. It has been normalized in my extended family, and Alec and I became foster parents in 2021. After three placements, we are taking a little break from opening our home once more, but we are choosing to serve the foster care community in different ways.
This May, I'm taking on an incredible challenge: walking 368,000 steps to represent every child in foster care in the United States. Each step I take is a symbol of support for young people who need our community's care and commitment.
I'm raising funds for The Friends of Foster Care, an organization dedicated to providing critical support, tutoring, and enrichment programs for local foster youth. Their work helps create stability and opportunity for kids who have faced significant challenges.
