The Extra Mile 5K

Non-Profit 5K Race hosted by Grace Baptist Church to benefit Fike, Hunt and Beddingfield High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes. What's better than a little High School competition? Besides Jesus of course (:

What does “going the second mile” mean? Jesus said, "And whoever shall force you to go one mile, go with him two” (Matt. 5:41). Roman soldiers could force citizens of Israel or any foreigner to carry their backpacks for a mile. Often people would stake off 1 mile from their home for that reason. Everyone can do the required but strive to go the extra mile for Christ! In this case, run it!

After completion of the 5K, runners are encouraged to hop on the Rotary Park Track and complete the EXTRA MILE (2 laps around the track). Grace Baptist Church will sponsor $20 per runner who completes the EXTRA MILE. We had a great turn out with this concept last year and can't wait for this year!

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Race will be in the Cavalier Terrace neighborhood, starting near Wilson's Rotary Park. All benefits and proceeds will be donated to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of the 3 Wilson County High Schools.

1st 2nd 3rd Place Special Medal in addition to participation medal.

GIVEAWAY
T-Shirts will be picked up at packet pick up. Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, XX-Large. T-shirts sizing first come first serve at packet pickup.

Parking will be available at the Park. However, as spots fill up, use good judgment and park anywhere near the event on the available side roads.  PLEASE BE MINDFUL NOT TO BLOCK RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAYS.

PACKET PICK UP 
Packet pick up is a time for you to come and get your official race day gear!  These items include your Race Bib, Chip Timing and your official Extra Mile race day T-shirt.
 
When and where is packet pick up?
 
There are 2 options for picking up your official race day gear.
 
(1)   Packet pickup: Friday October 20th 5-7pm

 Last minute/day-of Registration IS ACCEPTED.                      (please adhere to the following)
 
·      Arrive no later than 7:15 AM to the registration booth.
·      CASH ONLY (exact change is appreciated)
·      Adults: $30       Ages 12 & under: $15       Students/Staff: $20
 
OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS
·      Leave all personal belongings in your vehicle
·      Hydration will be provided at start/finish and throughout the race
