A little walk. A lot of good. And a delicious donut 1/2 way!

Yes, you read that right—it’s 0.5K, not 5K! At just 1,640 feet, this lighthearted, family-friendly walk/run is a little longer than the Empire State Building is tall. Walk, jog, or stroll around the pond while supporting the Mission’s work to provide food, shelter, and hope to our neighbors in need.
Bring your family, invite your friends, and enjoy a short distance with a big purpose. The scenic route is on grass, so wear comfortable shoes that don’t mind a little farm dirt. Free parking is available on-site.
And it is free again for kids ages ten and under and just $5 to register for everyone else.
You don’t have to go far to make a difference! Each $5 registration provides two full meals for someone experiencing hunger and homelessness at Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley!
We hope to see you on the farm!

The Point 5K is a fun, family-friendly walk/run supporting the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. It’s just half a kilometer—yes, 0.5K, not 5K! That’s only 1,640 feet, a little longer than the Empire State Building is tall. Thankfully, we’re walking around a pond instead of climbing stairs!
Walk, jog, or stroll—it’s a short distance with a big impact, complete with a halfway donut stop to keep your “training” on track.
Just $5 per person, and kids 10 and under are FREE again this year! Bring the family, gather your friends, and enjoy a little farm fun for a great cause. The distance is short, and so is the dent in your wallet!
And if the registration fee is a hardship, please reach out to our Chief Development Officer, Lynn, and we will see what we can do! We don't want anyone to miss out on fun on the farm! LWyant@RescueMIssionMV.org
Ha! Nope! No timing chips, no medals—just a great time for a great cause. If you’re feeling speedy, runners start at the front so they can dash ahead and leave plenty of room for those of us taking the scenic route. Walk, run, or stroll—there’s no rush on the farm!
PS our friends at Second Sole do install a giant finish line with a timing clock so you can see your results!
Everyone! Kids, teens, adults, grandparents—all ages are welcome. Bring the whole family, round up your friends, and join the fun. No athletic résumé required—just a willingness to travel a very short distance for a very good cause!
Let’s be honest: a full 5K sounds like a lot of work. Our Point 5K is just half a kilometer—short, sweet, and conveniently interrupted by a donut! You’ll enjoy:
-
A halfway donut stop. Because you’ve already come so far.
-
A selfie station. Document your impressive athletic achievement.
-
A Point 5K sticker cling for every participant. You’ve earned those bragging rights!
-
Family-friendly fun around the farm. A little walking, plenty of smiles, and a great cause.
We recommend registering in advance to guarantee your goodies!
Our development team gets a little nervous when the donut count is a guessing game. Preregistering helps us know how many White House donuts to order—and saves us from the terrifying possibility of a donut shortage!
There is plenty of free parking on the farm at White House Fruit Farm. Just follow the friendly volunteer parking attendants and they will help you find a spot in the back lot.
Yes, of course parking is FREE!
That's a good one! LOL. Since the entire length of the course is only 1,640 feet, everyone is generally to the finish line within 10 minutes and then enjoy the music and fun atmosphere at the finish line.
While we love our furry friends, White House Fruit Farm has a no-pets policy, so pets will need to sit this one out. Service animals are welcome in accordance with ADA guidelines.
Yes! The Mission will provide a complimentary refreshment tent stocked with bottled water. Because even a half-kilometer adventure deserves a hydration break—especially when donuts are involved!
Yes! Restrooms are available inside the farm market, though there are no porta-potties near the course. We recommend a quick pit stop before tackling your mighty half-kilometer adventure!
We joke that you might walk farther from your car to registration than you will on the actual Point 5K—but we promise it’s worth it! Consider that your warm-up.
-
Registration: To the left of the pond.
-
Start: Near the stage—just look for the flags!
-
Finish: Under the inflatable finish line, where you can celebrate your impressive half-kilometer accomplishment!
-
Comfortable shoes fit for the farm. If the ground is wet, they might go home with a little extra “farm charm.”
-
A fun attitude. Athletic ambition is entirely optional!
-
A water bottle, if you’d like. We’ll also have a complimentary hydration station—because even a 0.5K deserves a water break.
-
Your phone or camera. You’ll want proof you conquered the Point 5K!
The farm brings the scenery, but paved paths aren’t part of the package! The grassy route around the pond and through the trees may be manageable for strollers and wheelchairs when the ground is firm and dry. Tree roots, uneven terrain, and wet weather can make it more challenging, so please consider your equipment and mobility needs.
If the course isn’t a good fit, there’s still plenty of fun near the starting line, including music, a selfie station, and more. You can enjoy the event and support the Mission without tackling the trail!
Absolutely! Your feet may be taking the short route, but your impact can go the extra mile. Sign up as a fundraiser when you register, then share your personal fundraising link with friends and family. Every dollar helps support life-changing services at the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.

Join us on Saturday, July 10, 2027, at 10:00 AM at White House Fruit Farm in Canfield, Ohio. Free parking is available on-site, so you can save your energy for the entire half-kilometer ahead!
The scenic route follows the grass around the pond. Wear comfortable, farm-friendly shoes—ones that won’t be offended by a little dirt!
Because a little walk can do a lot of good! Every night, up to 186 men, women, and children rely on the Rescue Mission’s shelter, and hundreds more come to us daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
By joining the Point 5K, you’re helping provide meals, shelter, and hope to our neighbors in need. That’s a pretty big impact for a walk with a donut break!
Give us a call or email. 330-744-5485 X 506 or 2ndchance@rescuemissionmv.org
No rain date, so we’re hoping for sunshine! If the forecast looks soggy, bring your rain gear and shoes that don’t mind a little mud. Your hairstyle may suffer, but your generosity will still look great!
If the weather is a problem, we will send out an email to all registrants and put a notice up on the Mission's FaceBook page if we have to cancel. (But hopefully, that won't happen!)
No medal or shirt is included—just the glory of conquering half a kilometer! We typically offer an optional event shirt for preorder at cost, so you can wear your bragging rights.
But you will receive one of the coveted Point 5k stickers when you cross the finish line!
Our goal is to keep the event affordable for everyone, with extra purchases entirely up to you!
No extra trip required! Just check in when you arrive, grab your race bib, and you’re set. We’re keeping the preparations as easy as the distance!
