Changing pace & pausing the Good Fight 5K in 2023

New Date: October, 2024

The Traverse City Track Club (TCTC) wholeheartedly appreciates those who have supported the Good Fight 5K (formerly Remembrance Run) throughout the years and looks forward to continuing its partnership with Munson Healthcare Foundations. As with running and in life, sometimes a change of pace is needed. The TCTC will be pausing Good Fight 5K this year (2023) as it works to re-imagine some of its events as part of its strategic planning effort.

“We are committed to taking time and thoughtfully preparing quality experiences for our participants, supporters, partner organizations, and the community as a whole. As we move forward, we'll continue to focus on our core values - particularly community and quality - as we consider the new direction for events like this one,” according to Carie Wille, TCTC Executive Director.

“We are grateful for the Traverse City Track Club, and its members for their decades of support of cancer patients and families here in northern Michigan. From the annual Remembrance Run to the more recent Good Fight 5k events, your support has provided countless women, patients, and families dealing with a cancer diagnosis over $145,000 in patient needs support over the past 24 years,” says John Gower, Manager of Stewardship & Annual Giving with the Munson Healthcare Foundations. “We appreciate the impact you continue to make and look forward to working with the Traverse City Track Club into the future.”

TCTC remains committed to those going through their own cancer journey. We are grateful for those who envisioned and who have supported this event, and we deeply appreciate our long-standing partnership with Munson Healthcare Foundations. In alignment with our values, we are planning the following actions this year:

· October Fun Run dedicated to cancer awareness.  Watch for forthcoming details on our social media platforms and in the October newsletter!

· The TCTC Board of Directors will be donating $3,000 to the Cancer Patient Needs Fund! The fund provides financial assistance for such things as prosthetics, transportation, groceries, childcare, and utilities during treatment.

Thank you for your support of this event and stay tuned as we look to the future!
