Little Rylen Cowan lost his battle with bacterial meningitis in 2017 at only 13.5 months of age, but Rylen's family turned this painful tragedy into a blessing. Through the act of organ donation, Rylen was able to save the lives of five other people. This gave rise to the Smilin' Rylen Foundation, which supports families during times of crisis through organ donation (via LifeGift), family housing near children's hospitals (via Ronald McDonald House Charities), documenting a child's end of life (via Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep), and parking passes at the Houston Medical Center (via Smilin' Rylen Parking Passes).
