This fall, I’m taking on a big challenge — I’m running my first marathon!
Did you know? Public parks aren’t just a place to run through — they’re a place you can run for.
This November, I’ll be running the Philadelphia Marathon to raise funds for the Fairmount Park Conservancy, a local nonprofit that brings Philly’s parks to life.
Public parks are at the heart of city life. In Philadelphia, 95% of residents live within 10 minutes of a park, yet only 1.2% of the city budget is allocated to them. The Conservancy works year-round to create and care for vibrant, high-quality parks that promote public health, social connection, and environmental resilience.
From restoring historic landmarks to leading volunteer cleanups and hosting unique community programs, their work helps keep our parks thriving — but they can’t do it without support.
Your donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference and would mean so much to me personally as I train for this milestone.
