South Rowan Public Schools Bible Teaching Association

A Message from our President...
For 40 years the mission of the South Rowan Bible Teaching Association has been to teach Bible history to the students of the South Rowan area. We have been very fortunate to have had this program so long, and through the years it has touched the lives of many, many students. We have helped produce pastors, Sunday school teachers, church leaders, and good laypeople in our community, but without your support this would not be possible.

Through the years the Association has raised the funds to expand the program from South Rowan High School to Corriher-Lipe and China Grove Middle schools. Our hope is to expand even further in the year ahead by helping the school system hire another teacher to restart the Bible teaching program at Carson High School, since the Association there decided to disband earlier this year. To do this will take even more support than we’ve ever had before, but we believe that with God’s hand opening the door for us there, He will help us meet the financial needs of that addition.

-Bennett Hester,
Association President

Message from Roxanne Jordan, Retired Bible Teacher

Sadly, biblical literacy is at an all-time low and each year I meet students who have no knowledge of this book and little experience of its profound influence.

Many of these students have never heard of Abraham, Moses or Jesus and their stories which transformed our Western civilization. It is your support which makes it possible for them to hear.

These classes are a non-denominational, academic study of the Bible, seeking to increase knowledge and understanding of the stories that resonate throughout our history, literature, art, and world.

They include historical background, customs and culture of the time periods, geography, and text analysis as we study the Old Testament or Hebrew Scriptures in Bible 1 and the New Testament in Bible 2.

- Roxanne Jordan, Bible Teacher
