South Hall Rotary presents the Run, Run Rudolph Challenge. Santa's reindeer need a little extra help this year and we are asking the running community to step up! We are bringing a fall/winter challenge to the running community to help encourage you to stay fit while social distancing during the holidays!

Have you ever thought about how far Santa actually flies when he makes his annual trip around the globe?  How many miles do those reindeer actually have to take they sleigh? Well, this year is a little more difficult because Santa is making some stops early to help so many who are struggling because of COVID-19.  So we are asking you to help Santa make one extra trip around the globe starting October 24th and ending on December 24th.  Choose a distance and let's work together so that Santa can help two very special causes over the holiday season.

Choose a distance goal to complete - each time you log your miles your results will be calculated with the other reindeer to show you how far you've gone to help Santa get around the globe.  Work together with the other reindeer to collectively log 24,901 miles around the world as many times as we can!  You can run or walk anywhere you want, inside or outside as long as you log the miles. You do not have to run or walk each day, you just have to finish the total distance you committed to along the way before it's time for Santa to come down your chimney!

You can choose to have a reminder each day to log your distances as well as daily updates with your location and cumulative distanced logged.  We will have a live leader board at the results page for you to see how you place among the other participants daily!  We ask that you join our Facebook Group Page and tag any of your photos on social media with the #RRRudolphChallenge so we can follow along!

All Participants will receive a shirt and a medal once they complete the event distance (we will begin shipping at the beginning of December). All made in the USA!  All mileage must be submitted at your unique results page each day or each time you complete a daily mileage (you can enter mileage from previous days or whatever is convenient for you!

**Disclaimer: Please do not run on unsafe roads, or areas that have been closed off to the public.  Practice social distancing and any other requirements set forth by local, state and federal guidelines.  The interstates and highways are not open for pedestrian traffic, this is a virtual run/walk only, please do not gather as a crowd in any one location at the same time.

Due to COVID-19, many of those working to eradicate Polio from the earth had to postpone the work that has been ongoing to wipe this disease that still affects children around the world.  Through the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we are so very close to eradicating the disease but still have two countries with confirmed cases Today, polio remains an endemic in Afghanistan and Pakistan but we must remain diligent to continue work monitoring in other countries to keep them polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.

Secret Santa Car Show

Many Georgians have been affected by the current pandemic that has left them struggling to make ends meet. From hunger to homelessness. they can barely afford basic necessities that make it look very hard for their kids to have a great Christmas this year. Each year the annual Secret Santa Car Show steps in to help raise the money to buy carefully screened families Christmas presents so that the parents can focus on the food and shelter.  However, this year's car show was postponed due to COVID-19 and we want to donate the proceeds of this event to make sure Santa can show up even during a pandemic. Any additional proceeds from this challenge will benefit Christmas specific needs for kids during the holidays.

Finally, any additonal funds will be used to support the Chicopee Elementary Christmas initiative to ensure low income students at this school receive Christmas and that their families also have food during the holiday season.

Common Trouble Shooting Questions For Recording Miles

Q: I need to enter my second run but I keep entering it and my first run disappears, how do I fix it?
A: In this example, you are overwriting the first run.  Instead, keep the data the same for the first run, and click ADD ANOTHER ACTIVITY in order to add your second run/walk. You will continue to do this every time you add a run/walk.

Q: I got my link, but I'm confused on how to log my miles.
A: Here is a video to walk you through how to log miles with the link:

Q: I did not get my link, how do I log my miles?
A: Some email servers block our emails to you.  If you do not have your unique activity log link, you can follow this step by step instruction on how to log your miles in.  Keep in Mind you MUST BE LOGGED INTO THE https://RUNSIGNUP.COM/LOGIN  ACCOUNT THAT YOU USED TO REGISTER FOR THE RACE BEFORE YOU DO ANY OF THE STEPS IN THE VIDEO:  (You can now also log your miles using your email or phone number without being logged in).

Q: When I search my name it does not come up to enter virtual results or it says I don't have permission?
A: You must be logged into the same account that you registered with.

Q: I ran again today, how do I enter a second entry of results?
A: In the results page, choose Add Another Activity.  DO NOT JUST OVERWRITE THE PREVIOUS ACTIVITY OR IT WILL DISAPPEAR.
