Description

A RACE FOR THE REST OF US

Race Overview

Senior & Disability Services, a division of Lane Council of Governments, is hosting their 4th annual A Race for the Rest of Us! This is a "race for a good cause" - to raise money for the Senior Meals Program at Senior & Disability Services, which provides food to Lane County seniors who might otherwise go hungry. The distance is a whopping 0.5k - nope, that is not a typo! That is a half kilometer or about one third of a mile, or about 546 yards, or about 1640 feet, or about twice as far as the average good golfer can hit a golf ball off of a tee - you get the idea.

Unable to join the race in person? There are two virtual options this year! You can choose from the 0.5k or if you are someone who still wants to support the race but are looking for a longer distance, there is an option of a 5k! Please note, those that choose the 5k will still receive a shirt & medal that says 0.5k to show your support for "the rest of us".

Every participant gets a T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, and a race sticker to show off your race completion and your support for Senior Meals! Have you seen those oval stickers on the back of someone’s car with the numbers on them? Yup, like that, only much cooler!

  • Distance: in person 0.5k, virtual 0.5k & 5k
  • Race Day: Sunday, August 20th, 2023, 11am
  • Swag: T-Shirt, Sticker, Medal!
  • Finish Time Reporting Deadline: Thursday, August 31st, 2023
  • Location: Oakshire Public House, 207 Madison St. Eugene, OR, 97402, and also virtually.
  • Terrain: Flat concrete (sidewalk)

Come walk/run/roll with us or do it on your own time. Whatever works best for you. A portion of each registration will be donated to the Senior & Disability Services Senior Meals Program in Lane County.

Since this race benefits seniors 60+ in Lane County, seniors that sign up to "race" with us will get a $5 dollar discount!

Ages 13-59: $30
Ages 60+: $25
