Race Against Traffick is a 5k/10k Run, Family Fun Walk, and #RunUnRun to stand against human trafficking. Race proceeds support the work of Araminta Freedom Initiative, a Baltimore nonprofit that serves survivors of child trafficking and youth at risk for trafficking. The US Department of Justice estimates that at least 100,000 American youth are at-risk for being exploited through trafficking every year. Last year's race made a significant impact, raising $80,000 to provide more prevention and intervention education and increased community-based restorative survivor services! Together with our church and community partners, Araminta Freedom Initiative:
Provides services to survivors of child trafficking in Maryland through our mentoring program and community-based case management.
Increases awareness throughout Maryland in schools, communities, and churches through our education, youth prevention, and intervention programs, and our community events.
Trains and mobilizes volunteers to serve with us through our Awaken, Equip and Mobilize model.
Your donation will provide:
$25 – one mentor/mentee outing
$100 – two afternoons of community building at our Home Base drop-in center
$225 – training for three volunteers who serve an average of 72 hours their first year
$450 – three youth trainings in communities at high risk for trafficking
$1,200 – a year of monthly mentor/mentee events, helping surround a survivor in a restorative community
