Dear S4RT Supporters,
We hope this letter finds you safe and healthy. We are writing to inform you of our difficult decision to cancel our upcoming stair climb scheduled for October 4, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stairs4RTroops’ first event was on October 4, 2015, so our upcoming event would have marked our fifth anniversary, a milestone that we were excited to celebrate. Unfortunately, the global health crisis continues to evolve. We, along with all of you, have been forced to adjust our expectations and shift our focus during this challenging time. Our venue, Gillette Stadium, is no longer hosting private events, and Team S4RT feels it is important that we do our part in keeping people safe and curbing the spread of COVID-19 by not hosting a large event that could further spread the virus. We will be in touch early next year with an update on the timing of our next event. Our hope is that we will be back at Gillette Stadium next spring, and we hope to be in a position to announce a date early next year. Since we are unable to secure a date today, we have decided to cancel our upcoming event as opposed to postpone it as we did in May. If you have already purchased tickets or made donations, we will be reaching out to best accommodate how you would like to move forward. Despite the pandemic, Homes For Our Troops continues to build and donate specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for our most severely injured post-9/11 veterans. This past weekend, Homes For Our Troops presented Marine SSgt Liam Dwyer and his wife, Meghan, with the keys to their specially adapted custom home in Lake Worth, FL. Liam says receiving a specially adapted custom home enables Meghan and him to pursue their dreams. “The possibilities are endless in this new home,” he says. As you may remember, Liam and Meghan came to our stair climb last year. We hope we can still make a donation despite canceling our event.
As always, we appreciate your continued support. We hope you and your loved ones are safe, and we look forward to seeing you in 2021!
ALL REFUNDS NEED TO BE REQUESTED BY SEPT 8TH.
