On Saturday June 14, 2025, Team Wex will run again!
Team Wex was founded and captained by none other than Bill Wechsler, aka Wex, aka Dad-o, aka Poppy, aka YB... the list goes on. He was many things to many people!
Wex began running in memory of his mother, Jo Wechsler, who was diagnosed with ALS. Wex was desperate to end this disease and he led our team across the Timlin finish line for over 10 years. In 2016, irony reared its ugly head when Wex, himself, was diagnosed with the same disease. He continued running. He crossed the Timlin finish line three more times, always surrounded and supported by his family, friends, and students. He fought to cross that finish line because he refused to let ALS win. Now, Team Wex runs on to honor our captain, our Dad-o, our Poppy... in memory of Jo and Fran... and we will not stop running until we find a cure for this disease!
Every dollar Team Wex raises will be directed to UMass Chan Medical Center where Dr. Robert Brown and his colleagues are doing groundbreaking research toward a cure for this devastating disease. We know there are many worthy charities out there and we also recognize the annual ask Team Wex makes. We hope that you'll continue to stand with us, to run with us, to support our fight to end this disease. We welcome you to stand with Team Wex however you can.
A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated and can be made online by clicking the DONATE button. If you prefer to donate by check, please make the check payable to 'The Angel Fund' and put "Team Wex" in the memo field and mail it directly to:
