Striders Athletic Club:
The Chautauqua Striders Athletic Club is a running and walking club organized through Chautauqua Striders. Originally founded in 1979 as the Chadakoin Valley Athletic Club, Striders has grown over the past 40+ years to expand beyond athletics, now offering academic, mentoring, and social-emotional programming.
Striders hosts a number of running events throughout the year, including the popular Winter 5K Series and the Runner of the Year (ROTY) Series. In addition, Striders directly manages select ROTY races, including the St. Pat’s Dash and the Daniel Feather Memorial 5K. The ROTY Series also features races hosted by a variety of community organizations across Chautauqua County, creating a collaborative and community-driven race calendar.
The Athletic Club is open to individuals of all ages and abilities. Members are invited to participate in organized runs, races, and volunteer opportunities such as serving as course stewards at events. Membership includes discounts for the Winter 5K Series, ROTY Series races, and additional community events, along with other incentives.

See below for Athletic Club pricing and perks! To be eligible to earn points toward the Runner of the Year Series, participants must have an active Athletic Club membership (one-time annual fee). Age group and overall winners will be recognized with awards and prizes.

- Eligibility to accumulate points for the Runner of the Year Series (prizes awarded for overall male & female, overall masters male & female and top age group finishers male & female.
- Email notifications about Chautauqua County Races
- Calendar list of ROTY races
- Monthly Emails with standings, relevant information, upcoming events, etc.
- 10% discount for Winter 5K Series
- 10% discount for majority of the Runner of the Year Series races.
- Invites to Club social events such as the annual ROTY Banquet which features cocktails, food, a guest speaker and an award ceremony.
- Members will receive complimentary Striders gear.
- Members are encouraged to provide feedback on races in the series and the club as a whole so that we can ensure our runner's experience with these events are satisfactory.
