Since the inaugural BAMFI 5K, my family (Walker/Butler) has been an active participant in the Black & Missing Foundations annual 5K. Not only is the Black & Missing Foundation near and dear to our hearts, they make insurmountable efforts to help black and brown people that go missing across this nation come back home or get closure. Our family was personally affected in 2009 and they were by our side every step of the way. We participate every year (except last year) to honor their great work and to make sure more families don't have to go through what we went through.
