This is the 5th year that Team Nuckelheads will be running the Tunnel to Towers 5k Run & Walk in support of the victims and families of 9/11.
Team Nuckelheads runs in memoriam of Kevin Nuckel, who passed in 2021 from his time spent at Ground Zero.
Kevin Nuckel was a Sargeant at the Nassau County Corrections facility, who as part of the Corrections S.E.R.T Team was sent in to help service and aide those at the World Trade Center.
Kevin being a Law Enforcement Officer and a Navy Veteran, was dedicated to his country and as patriotic as they come. Each year, Kevin would participate in the Tunnel to Towers 5k to pay tribute to those who lost their lives on that tragic day.
This year like every year, Team Nuckelheads runs in order to keeps Kevin's yearly tradition alive and pay homage to the brave men and women that fulfilled the call of duty on 9/11/2001 and continue to sacrifice their lives for the betterment of others.
