This spring, in honor of the TEKsystems NYC Women's ERG, we are participating in Girls on the Run NYC's Virtual 5k Your Way! Join us in raising critical funds to support their programming.
Though the COVID-19 pandemic is limiting girls’ ability to access many of their critical support networks, such as school and after-school programs, girls are resilient. GOTR’s virtual program is providing girls with a safe and supportive space where they can connect with caring adult mentors and explore their emotions during this challenging time.
This season, girls participating in Girls on the Run will connect online with teammates and trained coaches, learn about expressing emotions and the importance of standing up for ourselves and others, and engage in exercise and movement! Girls on the Run has a positive impact on girls' abilities to positively express and manage their emotions - a critical life skill girls need now more than ever.
Currently, more than 80% of the girls in the Girls on the Run NYC program come from low-income communities. Funds raised provide these girls with full scholarship and subsidy support to participate in this life-changing program. Your support will help Girls on the Run NYC serve all girls, regardless of financial need.
