The 47th Annual Lone Star Stampede
Start your year with purpose, pride, and the power of community. The 47th annual Lone Star Stampede is a Houston tradition that unites runners, walkers, University of Texas alumni, and supporters for a day of fitness, fun, and giving back.
Hosted by the Texas Exes Houston Chapter, this annual event features a 10K, 5K, and Kids 1K Fun Run, welcoming participants of all ages and fitness levels.
More than just a race, the Lone Star Stampede is about making an impact—proceeds fund scholarships for Houston area students pursuing their dreams of higher education at The University of Texas at Austin. As a proud 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Texas Exes Houston Chapter is committed to fostering the next generation of Longhorn leaders while strengthening the bonds of our Houston community.

- Exclusive Longhorn Stampede Texas belt buckle medal (2.5 inch) for all runners 14 and up
- Top Male & Female Finishers (10K & 5K) receive (4-inch) Texas-size logo belt buckle medals and a $100 gift card to DICK's Sporting Goods
- Age Group Awards Top 3 Finishers in each division earn (3-inch) belt buckle medals in Male/Female/Masters
- Free training runs leading up to race day

- Race-Day Pickup: 8 – 8:45 AM

Course & Timing
- 10K: Out-and-back course within Brazos River Park
- 5K: Out-and-back course within Brazos River Park
- Kids 1K: Short out-and-back route
- Chip-timed 5K & 10K
- Strollers: Allowed for 5K walkers
- No pets permitted on the course
Parking
Ample parking is available at Brazos River Park (18427 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77479). Follow event signage on race day.
Inclement Weather Policy
The event will be held rain or shine. If weather conditions are unsafe, the event will be canceled and all fees will be donated to the Texas Exes Houston Chapter Scholarship Fund. No refunds or transfers.

Longhorn Spirit Award
Calling all creative runners, enthusiastic spectators, and spirited volunteers! Show your Longhorn pride and compete for the Longhorn Spirit Award—proudly sponsored by DICK'S House of Sports.
How to Enter: No registration required—just bring your best! Come dressed in your most creative costume, make an eye-catching sign, or rally your team to show maximum spirit. Our judges will be scouting throughout race morning for the most spirited displays of Longhorn pride.
The Prize: The overall winner, determined by crowd applause at our post-race ceremony, takes home a $100 DICK'S Sporting Goods gift card!
