Sarcoma research is deeply personal to our family.
The Wisniewski girls - Dar, Tori, and Tina - are genetically predisposed to chondrosarcoma, a rare and devastating cancer. While we are incredibly grateful for the excellent medical care and monitoring we receive, the reality is difficult: despite billions spent on cancer research, there are still no truly effective treatments for chondrosarcoma. That is simply unacceptable. Rare cancers matter too.
Since 2012, raising funds for sarcoma research has become part of our family’s mission. On any given day, there is likely a Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma activity happening at the Wisniewski house — committee meetings, sponsorship outreach, race planning, donation documentation, team captain and fundraising emails, or simply conversations about how we can do more to move research forward.
But this mission has grown beyond our own family's story.
Over the years, we have met so many incredible volunteers, patients, parents, spouses, children, survivors, physicians, and researchers through the sarcoma community. Their strength and resilience continue to inspire us to support efforts focused on better treatments, better care, and better outcomes for families facing sarcoma.
We walk and run for hope.
We fundraise because progress matters.
And we will continue pushing forward until better answers exist for families like ours.
Thank you for supporting Team TnT Dynamite and the mission of Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma!
