Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the 2025 Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maryland Red Shoe Shuffle 5K Run & Walk!
My family and I started volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) when I was in elementary school. What began as being Santa’s elf on Christmas Eve has turned into so much more. I have been lucky enough to volunteer with my family, synagogue, and the Red Shoe Crew - each offering a very different experience, but all helping the families while their children are in local hospitals receiving treatments.
Each year, the House welcomes 2,400 families who walk through the doors not knowing what to expect. They are experiencing some of the most difficult times with their children. Having a homemade meal prepared, activity for their children, or a space to do laundry can make an extremely difficult day a bit easier.
Each time I volunteer, I am reminded of why we do what we do - so the kids can feel “normal” for once, so the families have a hot meal after a long day at the hospital, and so much more.
Your donation will support the families from around the world who travel to the House so their children can receive the life-changing treatments they need.
