On May 18, I will be running in the Reflection 10k Run organized by WHY Racing. The 10th Annual Reflection Run will honor the brave men and women who have or are currently serving in our Armed Forces and remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice fighting for our freedom.
As a veteran, I often think about those that have served and sacrificed so much and when they get back home, depression starts to creep in. Something that has taken hold of me as well, where substance abuse and addictions lead me to a very dark place. I was fortunate and blessed with a loving wife and family who never gave up on me and the Lord shined His light into that dark life.
Which is why I set up this fundraiser for Northwest Battle Buddies who's mission is to provide professionally trained service dogs to veterans battling PTSD, helping them regain their freedom and independence.
As a dog owner, I understand the unconditional love that our pets give us, which gives us hope and something to love back. Especially for those that may not have the support many of us are blessed with. Please consider donating to my cause, anything helps.
